Just how serious is Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon’s relationship?
“I just think he loves her,” Gyllenhaal’s producer pal Ryan Kavanaugh told PEOPLE at the 23rd Annual “Salute to Youth” dinner in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Kavanaugh produced the actor’s upcoming film, Brothers, which he calls a “passion project.”
“[Jake] has obviously had his fair share of dating,” Kavanaugh says of Gyllenhaal’s romantic life. “I think eventually you come to a place where you know what you want and seeing what we saw on the set, he was certainly completely devoted to her and really loves her.”
Over the course of the film, the producer really got to know Gyllenhaal, 27. “He’s awesome,” says Kavanaugh. “He’s a true artist and a really good guy. We used to workout every morning before going on the set so he became a good friend, too.” [People]

A pals tells America’s Life + Style magazine that Gyllenhaal and pal Fischer are looking at real estate in Los Angeles - with a view to opening their own place.
The insider says, “Cooking is his (Gyllenhaal) big hobby and his passion.” Reports suggest Gyllenhaal is even planning a summer vacation cycling tour of food-lovers mecca Tuscany, Italy with his girlfriend Reese Witherspoon - to seek inspiration for his new restaurant.

Cameron Diaz and Gerard Butler enjoyed a double date with Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal last weekend.
The foursome met at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont hotel just after midnight for a very late dinner, laughing and joking together into the early hours.
A source said: “They arrived at 12.30am and grabbed a table on the patio. Cameron snuggled up to Gerard and rested her head on his shoulder. Jake and Reese were really cute together too, joking a lot and just very comfortable with each other.”
Cameron - who has reportedly enjoyed a string of dates with Scottish ‘300′ star Gerard over the past fortnight - entertained the group as they drank red wine with their appetisers and main courses.
The source added to Life and Style Weekly magazine: “Cameron was the centre of attention. Reese threw in an occasional wisecrack, but Cameron was really on a roll.”
However, while Cameron and Gerard were happy to let the world know they were an item, Reese and Jake - who met on the set of ‘Rendition’ last year - remained more reserved.
The insider said: “Cameron and Gerard held hands under the table, but Reese and Jake were slightly less affectionate.”
Hollywood star JAKE GYLLENHAAL has offered an insight into why he’s dating REESE WITHERSPOON - he loves strong women.

Ryan Phillippe has admitted to being a little uncomfortable when it comes to his ex-wifeās new romance with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The actor admits that he doesnāt look at pictures of former wife Reese Witherspoon with the BrokebackMountainā star.

Phillippe and Witherspoon were married in 1999 and have 2 children. They split in October 2006 and officially divorced in 2007. Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal first stepped out together last March.
Ryan Phillippe appeared on The Howard Stern Show on Thursday (March 20) where he was questioned about a string of rumored hook-ups with various Hollywood starlets, and asked how he feels about his ex-wife, Reese Withersppon, and her romance with Jake Gyllenhaal.
In the candid interview, 33-year-old Phillippe discussed what lead to the breakdown of his marriage, saying that the decision to split in 2007 was “mutual” and “leading up to it, we had been spending so much time apart. That’s a huge part of it. There are so many obstacles.”
When questioned about Witherspoon’s reported romance with Gyllenhaal, the actor said, “He’s a good dude. I love her and I want her to be happy, and it seems like she is.”

Despite reports of their impending nuptials, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are not headed down the aisle, according to the actress’ rep.
“It’s absolutely false,” Reese’s rep says of the rumored engagement, as reported in Us Weekly. “Thereās not one ounce of truth to it.”
Though the acting powerhouse couple is not engaged, they have reportedly been seeing one another for months. Last November, the couple was spotted vacationing together in California’s Napa wine country.
Reese was previously married actor Ryan Phillippe. She filed for divorce from Ryan on in 2006. Jake has never been married.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon have taken their romance to the next level. The actor “has started” enjoying days out with his new girlfriend’s kids. The stars were spotted hiking with eight-year-old Ava and Deacon, four, in Malibu, California just after Christmas.
A fellow hiker says, “They wore matching Boston Red Sox baseball caps and Deacon was sitting on Jake’s shoulders. They looked like a happy family. You’d think the kids were Jake’s.”

Jake Gyllenhaal has taken lover Reese Witherspoon’s children hiking.
The couple took turns holding hands with the actress’ two children - daughter Ava, eight, and four-year-old son Deacon - as they walked around a Malibu park on December 30.
A source said: “Reese’s kids have really taken a shine to Jake. They were laughing and joking with him and Reese. At one point, Jake even carried Deacon on his shoulders as they hiked along a trail. They all looked very happy together.”
This is not the first time Jake has shown his commitment to Reese and her kids.
Jake, 27, accompanied the Oscar-winning actress and her children trick or treating last Halloween.
The couple waited on the sidewalk and flirted while Deacon and Ava - whose father is actor Ryan Phillippe - collected candy.
A source said: “Jake tapped Reese on the butt and then she hit him back - they began running round in a circle and were hitting each other! Then Jake picked Reese up off her feet and she screamed.”
Reese and Jake met on the set of their film ‘Rendition’ last year but did not go public with their romance until October.
